Thanks Alex. You are a lifesaver. This is really a very informative and useful site.
However, i still have some qns.
Where can i get konsortium tix in SG?
What are the check-in and check-out times for laguna?
(do they facilitate early chk-in)
Lastly, is it cheaper to plan my trip ?
Thanks Alex.

You can buy Konsortium tickets from their office in Beach Rd. Check out their website for contact info (www.konsortium.com.sg).
If I'm not mistaken, check-in & check-out times for Laguna officially are 1pm and 9am respectively. Whether you can do a late room check-out depends on whether they need your room for other guests. Even if you have to check-out at 9am, you can still opt to return on the afternoon speedboat instead of the morning boat (you can leave your luggage at the luggage area near the reception).
I think if you are talking about Singapore travel agents, then it is cheaper to plan your own trip (that's what I've been doing every year) except you need to make more effort. You pay more booking through Sgp agents but at least it's less hassle. The additional effort comes in booking your coach tickets and having to book resorts either directly with the resorts or with Malaysian travel agents, but you do save since they charge in RM (and current exchange rates are quite good, about S$1 to RM2.2). Of course, you also have to make sure you book through reliable travel agents, or you might end up with more trouble than it's worth (harder to go after than local Sgp agents!).

Laguna isnt replying to my emails. Should i use Pinganchorage instead? I think i would follow your lead and stick to Transnasional, it is cheaper than Konsortium. Is it possible to put my luggage at the the Transnasional KT coach office? any recommendations on where can i hang about at KT till the coach arrives and any advice on behaviour and customs that i mught have to adhere to?
Kudos,
Shannon

If you deal with Pinganchorage, you can leave your luggage at their backpacker lodge cum cafe. Confirm with them via email.
They are quite good in reponding to queries by email, usually within 24 hours or less.
There is a shopping complex on the right side of the bus station. Behind the complex what looks like a estuary with the smallest lighthouse I've seen so far. We walked along that stretch towards the south where exist a kampung with chickens, ducks, kids playing, women cooking, the works. Then cut back out to the main road. It was like walking back into the 70s and then back out of it. If you like that sort of experience.
Enjoy your stay in Redang.

If you can't get a response from Laguna, you can also book through Ping Anchorage. As Tango mentioned, they're pretty reliable and respond fairly quickly. You can choose to leave your bags at their Traveller's Cafe or you can pay a few ringgit to leave your bags at the bus station - there is a baggage service at the far right of the terminus closest to the Astaka department store/shopping centre. In KT, you can visit the Central Market, KT museum (supposedly the largest museum in M'sia, at least in terms of building size) or just walk around the town centre. The town centre isn't very large and you should be able to cover it on foot. Alternatively, if you're going through Ping Anchorage, you can ask them for sightseeing tips. I believe they also provide day tours.
