Subject: Redang to Perhentian

Is it possible to go from Redang to Perhentian or vice versa?

I plan to stay for a few days in Redang and then another few days in Perhentian. How much would it cost to get a boat?

I am traveling alone.

Redang and Perhentian are located about 40-45 min away from each other by speedboat. So it's possible to charter a boat but if you're alone without anyone to share the charter costs, it may be quite pricey. Expect to pay anything from RM250 upwards.

It's probably better to stay at Perhentian first and then go to Redang because there are many private water taxis and speedboats for charter at Perhentian. More choices mean more competitive pricing and more flexibility. In Redang, there are no water taxis and you'll probably be at the mercy of the resorts providing the boat, or you'll have to go to the village (no convenient access unless you happen to stay at Berjaya) to charter one from the local villagers.
