Subject: Thanks! We have pics from RAP but if feel like I just wasted my money, we still don't do well. My daughter knows how to model on X's and everything. I think its because she is bi racial. A lot of those kids win too. Like JP, but she is good for her age. We will keep trying though :)

[> I saw a lot of ugly posts, not on this board, about bi racial kids winning to much! I think at AGG. These kids are beautiful too. I think the judges are getting tired of the blonde, blue, barbie look. many of the winners now look "different". I think it's great! -- No name, 08:30:14 05/23/02 Thu

[> [> I have 3 bi racial daughters (black and white) one of my daughters looks mixed while the other doesnt. She has blue eyes and brown hair. They both competed in the same pageant for a local town title. -- Where my oldest (the darker one) was a better model and rocked the stage my younger daughter (the lighter one) won the title. It didnt matter to them they had a blast and met some great kids., 19:09:54 06/27/02 Thu

I myself am so tired of the barbie doll look! I love to see the dark haired beauties win!

[> I know what you mean, sometimes I think we picked the wrong hobby. I know my daughter is beautiful. People stop me to tell her that all the time. We just don't seem to do well with national pageants. She is a total package too. -- nt, 07:03:48 05/24/02 Fri

[> I wonder why JP wins so much, is it because she is a GG, or the judges have picked her to be the one black child they accept? I say one because she is the only one that wins almost every pageant she goes to. -- nt, 14:02:02 05/25/02 Sat

[> I believe she goes to Susan Gosney? Not sure though, last time when I talked to SG she told me that she coached a bi racial girl named JourNey. THe point is that she is really good, but so are others. Just wondering why some others don't win. -- No name, 20:54:42 05/25/02 Sat

[> My daughter is half hispanic and half white, and very exotic looking. We NEVER win at a pageant, but we get stopped in public all the time by people saying "oh my gosh your daughter is stunning". -- I guess were not cut out to be a "beauty queen". And dont say its because we dont have clothes because our dress is a chris carpenter and sportswear is lori clarke, and our pics are bonefonti., 09:58:46 05/26/02 Sun

[> My daughter is 1/2 hispanic and 1/2 white. I must say I have never had these problems. The only problem we have at pageants now is that for the last year, she has had no interest in doing pageants, before that, she won all the time. -- No name, 12:00:48 05/26/02 Sun

[> Probaly if your child looks more white then you won't have problems. When your child looks black, then the problems arise. Some people say it's not so, but if your child is not black or mixed then you wouldn't know. -- nt, 13:47:18 05/26/02 Sun

[> [> My child IS mixed and definitely looks mixed. I have never found that it caused us any problems. As a matter of fact when she was younger, she would win all the time over babies who were oozing personality, but she'd just smile win over waving, kiss blowing, walking babies. -- No name, 17:34:00 05/26/02 Sun

[> Thats great, but in big national pageants, it doesn't work that way. Everyone knows its whoh your coach is, who does your h/m, and what clothes you wear. -- nt, 20:26:29 05/26/02 Sun

[> I agree, but when this generation is grown up, there are going to be a lot of mixed people. People need to get real. Many people who say they are not racist, go home and talk in front of there kids. Thats how the kids become racist just like the parents...it is taught. -- No name, 17:46:31 05/27/02 Mon

[> My child is mixed also - We go to pageants with a positive attitude!! If she wins we celebrate, if she doesn't win we celebrate. -- Its the fact that we have a BLAST and enjoy being around our friends - We don't let it bother us and we have a terrific time., 10:16:42 05/30/02 Thu

[> [> [> First I want to say IM NOT RACIEST!!!! But If your child is Bi-racial its because you made that choice for her. You decided to do what it takes to make a bi-racial child so don't blame the world because they don't feel the way you do. I have seen black, Mixed, white, and Hispanic girls win pageants. -- I've seen it go in the way of all types. Don't blame the race card because your child cant compete.JMHO, 22:12:52 06/27/02 Thu

[> [> [> [> To the idiot who SAYS SHE IS NOT RACIST!!!!! Once again, I will repeat, my daughter is adopted so NO I didn't choose for her to be born like that and I didn't make her bi-racial...once again it is ASSummed that if you have a bi-racial child then one of the parents is black, hispanic or whatever -- My daughter is adopted, but even if I had made her that way, even if I was married to a black me, it SHOULD NOT MATTER!!!! My children are part mexican and part irish. I am very proud too! But for you say I choose that has just a little to do with it. You see it is God that gives us these wonderful gifts. I am not crying over my duaghter's skin. Instead I am beaming with pride! Maybe the next time you word something do it with a little bit of sensitivity! RACIST YOU ARE!

[> Every pageant my little girl (who is white) has been in, there have been hispanic, biracial, black, and white Queens. Some have coaches, some don't. Most judges that I see really don't care what race the kids are, so just try other systems and stick with it because your kids are BEAUTIFUL!!! -- Shelly & Liz, 10:48:17 06/28/02 Fri

[> I think that ther are a lot of racist people in pageants, they just don't admit it. People are mad b/c JP is one of the best in the nation for her age, and she is BLACK! I'm glad too. When she wins I look at the expression on peoples faces, not only her , but other blacks as well! -- nt, 19:01:09 07/01/02 Mon
