You and I, we fell apart

He had used his phone call the day before to talk to Kali, instead of Kesi, because he got to visit with Kesi today and hadn't seen the other girl for almost two weeks... Kali had been a bit of a wreck, and he wasn't doing much better now after hearing what his friend had had to say about their significant others. Slouched into the hard cafeteria-like chair, feet crossed at his shackled ankles and arms folded over his chest, he quietly pondered the news...

She made her way into the room, with a smile, as usual. She hadn't gone out the night before, just because she wanted to be rested, and fresh looking for when she saw him. "Hey sweetie." He wasn't the one who heard from Zeke about how he tried to make her happy, how she was always upset, how nothing he did could bring a smile to her face.
