Subject: Gills supporters win Brentford Tournument.

Gillsconnect FC returned home to Medway on Saturday night as the "Ohbeehave 2003" champions after making the long trip to Raynes Park for this football tournument.
The team of Gillingham supporters did n't get off to the best of starts, drawing 1-1 with Afc Wimbledon. Rob Ladd gave Gillsconnect the lead but a controversial late penalty for Afc ensured both teams started off with just a point.
Gillsconnect's second group game was against a group of Brentford supporters known as Beesotted. Danny Edwards and Matt Brown scored the goals for Gillsconnect, as they earned their first win of the tournument with a 2-0 victory.
Spectators had to wait until the last five minutes for a goal to be scored in Gillsconnect's final group game against Qprnet and it was worth the wait when Stuart Lappard was put through by strike partner Martin Cutting to give the Gills side a 1-0 advantage. Danny Edwards made the victory certain two minutes later ensuring Gillsconnect would qualify for the semi finals as group winners. It could of been very different but Gills goal keeper Stewart Jefferies kept them in the game with some fine early saves.
The semi finals drew Gillsconnect against Brentford's IFA League representatives "Hey Jude". Danny Edwards gave Gillsconnect the lead early on but Hey Jude equalised with the last kick of the game meaning the match would be decided on penalties.
Martin Cutting, Steven Ballard, Brad Maguire, Rob Ladd and Matt Brown all coverted their penaltis and with Gills 5-4 up, Hey Jude's fifth penalty taker put his penalty high over the bar sending Gillsconnect into the final to take on old rivals Fulham.
Gillsconnect totally dominated the final and had chances to take the lead with Stuart Lappard and Martin Cutting both putting the ball wide when through on goal, but with ten minutes to go Nathan How rose high to header Tony How's cross against the bar before Dave Land set up Danny Edwards to smash home the winner.
An added bonus for Gillsconnect was youngster Matt Brown got voted "Player of The Tournument" by fellow team managers and the organisers of the tournument. It was even more of an achievenment for Matt because he was playing left midfield for the first time in his life.
