It's great to hear some good stories Jodi..thanks for sharing them with us! I'm glad gator and her family had you to turn to when they needed help and wish we could have all done more. Just as a reminder to everyone who wants to donate money to the relief effort, I've heard that there are more than 4000 websites set up for the Katrina relief victims, of which only about half are legit..if you're planning on donating or wondering where to donate, the Red Cross or some of the other big volunteer agencies down there are probably your best bet. I'm also guessing that the police services and fire services in most towns and cities across the US and Canada have some kind of relief fund set up or can tell you where to access one.
Jodi, let Gator know we all admire her strength and fortitude, a lot of people would have wanted to give up after losing so much.
