Jenn - I was never good at math, especially probability, but I understand the gist of what you are looking for here. I think it is an interesting idea. It's like when we take a hunch or intuitive feeling and try to prove it with the scientific method. If both our gut and science say it's true, it is much easier to accept something as true. It would be nice if there were an answer to the probability question you pose, and the real experts might actually be able to come up with one. More than anything though, I think your question shows just how hard it is to accept these traumatic realities in our lives. Even if 9 or 10 facts could still point to a probability of something like 1 in a million that a spouse is still straight, and all these things we see are mere coincidence/chance, some of us would believe that we had that one in a million who is really still straight in spite of the evidence, i.e. even if math and science could "prove" it, we would resist and deny until we are emotionally ready on some level. Sort of like the climate change thing - so much science says it's true, but so many still deny, based on their emotional/gut response.

I hope this makes some sort of sense, as it just "came out".
