Sue,

I know this is very hard. The feeling of being alone is not pleasant at all. This is a hideous feeling that eats us inside. But.....we need to stop that feeling....

More strategies....

4. Talk to your kids about what happened. I don't know why I have the feeling you, as I was doing, are protecting this man. STOP PROTECTING YOUR HUSBAND. Each time you protect him you are hurting yourself. When it is needed say the real story behind this. The love from the kids are very important in this moment for you. Act accordingly to their age, telling them what happened in terms of the lies and secrets. I can assure you they will learn from it and will prevent them to do the same in their lives. I understand you are in a small town. It is scary to face this situation where probably everybody is going to gossip or talk badly about your situation. Be proud of yourself and show the world you are strong but show it protecting yourself. You have done NOTHING WRONG. It is not a matter of homophobia. It is a matter of LIES, DISHONESTY AND LACK OF REAL LOVE.

5. Do not think he is having fun. Stop thinking on him and his "nice" life he is having. Focus on you, treat you as a queen. I know it is difficult. My marriage was 17 years when everything fell apart (including an abused son) and I wa wondering how to have fun without him. We used to socialize with families not divorced, now I'm by myself. I loved him so much and to cut that love doesn't happen overnight. I promise it will come. As my counsellor say, love withou power doesn't work and power without love doesn't work either. Get the power back knowing who you are. I'm 44 and stay home mom. I haven't work for more than 15 years. It is scary to start over. It is never too late to star a fresh start. Ask God and the door will be open. Sorry, I can't avoid to tell you that life doesn't exist without a reason, and you'll find the reason for all this situation. What it seems falling apart it is falling in the perfect spot now.
