Subject: I am sick of a couple of people bashing UR on 13909. It's getting old.
It's just gets old everytime a simple UR post about a Prelim this weekend. It just appears that a one person has a chip on their shoulder. I just think they need to get over it.
Just needed to get this off my chest.

My opinion of UR is that it needs a new director. AH is too money hungry and passes that on to the kids. Her favorite saying at her pageants is "Show Me The Money!" She always plays up the winning of money part of it. That is why I got my kids out of her system, because there are a lot of other systems out there that teach a whole heck of a lot better values. We are not in pageants for the money, never have been and never will be. Anyone who is, is just fooling themselves. -- Everyone knows that to do the big pageant systems (like UR) you have to put in a whole lot more money than you will ever get out. jmho, 07:40:04 05/23/02 Thu

So, are you saying that Pageants don't have to have values? YES, Core values should be "set in stone" at home, but, these pageants we do are for children and children are very impressionable. I don't care what you teach them at home, a child can see something done "once" and be affected by it. That is why, if I see something in a system that does not stand up to the moral standards I have set for my family, we will not return to it. -- (and a lot of times I like to go to a pageant and watch before I enter my children in it, for that very reason) jmho, 13:19:34 05/23/02 Thu

And yes UR is a big system, but that is the only system that I know of that actually gives out large amounts of cash even to divisionals. . -- I think the "show me the money" thing has been put to bed. UR had a prelim this weekend and everything went very well. I just don't see what all the bashing is about. -- Could it be someone with sour grapes from along time ago? I don't think it's the pageant so much as the fact that AH has a tendency to tell people whatever they want to hear to get them to enter.
