Subject: insurance

Is Health Insurance mandatory?
At my workplace insurance is provided at a cost of $18.00
a month per employee. My husband has insurance that provides
better coverage with a lesser copay and better prescriptions. However, I cannot use his insurance because I
have my own. I would like to drop my insurance and keep my $18.00 per month but the Union says that I can't do that.
My Union Delegate says that if we don't want to use the insurance, just lie and say you dont have anyother coverage.
A friend of mine did that and got in trouble for insurance fraud. Had to go through alot of aggravation and paperwork.
What are my rights? This doesn't seem fair. Please Help!!
