Tobey Maguire

"Spider-Man" star Tobey Maguire, who said his life changed with the opening of the blockbuster movie, has bought a $3.7 million house in Beverly Hills, U.S. media reported on Sunday.

The 5,000 square-foot manse is the first home the 26-year-old actor has ever purchased, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Maguire reportedly earned $4 million for his role as Spider-Man's shy and conflicted alter ego, Peter Parker. He was guaranteed an additional $23 million to reprise the role in two sequels, the Times said.

"Spider-Man" shattered box office records with its $115 million opening and has gone on to break records with estimated earnings of more than $200 million in its first 10 days in release.
