I'm really intrigued (and turned on) by reading about other people who had parents stay in the room while they were being checked out by the doctor. I would love to hear/share stories of similar experiences...so please reply via email or reply here.
My experience is pretty straightforward. I was 15 and really short for my age. I had some asthma/medical problems that made me go on steroids which stunted my growth...so my pediatrician recommended I see a specialist (an endocrinologist) to get a full physical and investigate why I wasn't growing as fast as the other boys.
My mom drove me to the doctor's office in Miami after school. I didn't want to go. I was nervous and didn't see the need for it, even though I knew he could help me.
The nurse called me into the exam room, while my mom waited outside. I waited alone for a few minutes until the doctor entered. He was an older guy in his late 40s who started by trying to get me to relax by asking me questions about how I'm doing in school and about my friends, etc. He made some comment that it looked like I had the body of a 14 year old and asked how I feel about being smaller than the other boys in school. I told him that I get teased a lot, but it's no big deal. He assured me that he would try to help me along and that the exam was going to be detailed but not to worry.
He started by telling me that I needed to take everything off except my underwear. I immediately got nervous but complied. He had me stand on a scale and measured my height (about 4'10) and weight (about 120#....kinda skinny) He wrote this down on a paper on a clipboard filled with blank spaces and illustrative diagrams.
He took out a tapemeasure and started measuring all over my body. I was really scrawny. Started by telling me to stretch out my arms and measured my armspan, then my arms, them my wrists. Then he wrapped it around my chest. Then my hips/waist.
He then wrapped the tapemeasure around my right thigh and brushed his fingers near my briefs. I got really nervous. Then he put the tapemeasure around my a ankles he commented that I had "no hair on your ankles yet." The measurements are very clinical, and I feared it was going to get more detailed/embarassing.
He told me to hop up and sit on the exam table. I complied and he walked up close, touching my moving my head around, looking for facial hair. I had a small amount of peachfuzz on my sideburns and near my lips. He asked if I started shaving yet. I told him "not really." He more stuff down in my chart.
He then told me to lie back and I nervously complied. There was an awkward moment of silence as he watched me recline on the paper covered table. I felt like I was on display as he wrote more comments in my chart, looking over my smooth teenage body.
The doctor told me to put my arms behind my head. I lifted my arms and locked them behind my head. I knew that he was looking for underarm hair, of which I had very little. He rubbed his finger in my right armpit and pulled on a few light strands of hair.
He asked me when the hair started growing in, and I said I noticed it a few weeks before. He asked me if I had started using deodorant yet, and I looked away and said yes, as I had recently started. It was kind of embarrassing.
He then looked over my chest and lightly rubbed around my nipples (I guess checking for hair). It tickled a little bit, and they were a little sensitive. (eventually, I didn’t get hair on my chest until my early 20s).
And then, as I feared, the doctor told me to “lift up” and he quickly slid my white briefs down to my ankles, and I laid there totally naked. I quickly put my hands over my genitals to try to cover up, but the doctor just said to keep my hands at my side and “not worry”. So I just stared at the ceiling hoping I wouldn’t get an erection.
He wrote several things in my chart- awkward silence- and then asked me when I first noticed the pubic hair growing in. I said a few months earlier (probably early 15). He said that I was Tanner Stage 2…much later than most other boys. Then he took a small paper tapemeasure from his pocket and actually put it on my penis to measure its length. I was probably 2”c then. But as soon as he started this measuring, I started getting a hardon. And I again tried to cover up. But he said to “just relax.” In a few seconds my penis was rock hard as the doctor just looking over me and writing things down in my chart. Then he took the tapemeasure again and measured me with an erection (I was probably 4” hard then (about 5” now). And also wrapped it around the middle of my penis for circumference. It felt really good, but I was soooooo nervous and embarrassed. He just kept reassuring me that everything was okay and not to worry.
He put the tapemeasure back in his pocket and exchanged it for a set of egg-shaped beads on a string (an orchidometer). He held the orchidometer in his left hand and rolled each of my testicles in his right hand, to compare their sizes. All the while, I remained hard, my boy penis bouncing up and down, seemingly with a life of its own. My balls were normal sized, but pretty smooth. He asked me if “everything works okay down here…normal ejaculations?” And I quietly said “yeah”. He lifted up my balls, looked around my anus area (didn’t probe it or anything), and then basically he was finished. He told me to get dressed. I hopped off the table, fully hard, as he continued to write things in my chart while watching me.
He then called my mom in for a conference, and he shared all about my late development (that was also embarrassing), and suggested that growth hormone was an option, but eventually we declined that, and I developed normally (just slowly). I had to go back a few months later for a followup visit. Not as detailed (I didn’t get as hard), but just as embarrassing.
