I am like "Rodger", I cannot understand why the first answer to "Kevin" was so negative because all what "Kevin " has related seems to be true, he could have said that his mother was watching all his exam to increase the embarrassment of the examination by the doctor but he was sincere and he has said that she was waiting during his exam, so it was less embarrassing for him, why would it be a liar?
the doctor was acting in a very professional manner!
it was more embarrassing for "Rodger" or for "jimmy" if their mother was watching when they pulled down their underwear to leave the doctor examin their genitals and testicles but I can also undestand that their mother who was caring about their good health and puberty development would have wanted to be present and to watch to know if there was an issue.
It was not the same situation as when a mother is present for the complete examination including genitals of a son who has no health issues!
a question to "Rodger and Jimmy" :
Were you only asked to pull down your underwear or to remove it ? which is more embarrassing because you are completely naked in that case and the mother spectator of the exam has obviously a better view at your genitals and also bare buttocks!
anyway the most important for you and your mother was your health and good puberty development, so it was important that a doctor could look at you and told you and your mother what to do!

Thank you, Kevin, for sharing your story. I was also a 'late bloomer' who was the smallest (or one of the smallest) through grade school so I can certainly empathize with the development issues you described. I never had to go through an exam like yours, tho'.
It's a shame that on a board like this that some people hide behind the anonymity of a computer and a fictitious name to offer only ridicule & accusations instead of intelligent dialogue. Thanks again for sharing.
