Date Posted: January 11, 2005 11:12:01 EDT Chesbrough Lewis Patcevitch, a former New York social figure and fund-raiser for charitable causes, died on Dec. 28 in Miami. She was 92 and she lived in West Palm Beach, Fla. Her death was announced by her family. Mrs. Patcevitch, who married four times, was the widow of Iva S. V. Patcevitch, a former president and chairman of Condé Nast Publications. He died in 1993 after 30 years of marriage. She was the mother of Chessy Rayner, a decorator and fashion writer and editor who died in 1998. A native of Perrysburg, Ohio, the young Chesbrough Lewis was a cafe society beauty photographed by Horst and Avedon. She formerly lived in Southampton, N.Y., and on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She was active most notably for Southampton Hospital and Just One Break Inc., known as JOB. Mrs. Patcevitch is survived by a son, Charles Minot Amory III of Palm Beach, and three grandsons.
