Date Posted: May 17, 2005 1:37:39 EDT Stanley H. Silverman, a busy television writer of the 1950s and 1960s, died May 9 at age 90 in Sarasota, FL. Silverman was long associated with Ziv Productions, the low-budget outfit that produced a number of popular syndicated action series. Silverman wrote over a dozen "Sea Hunt" scripts for Ziv as well as episodes of "Science Fiction Theatre," "Lock Up," and "Harbor Command." Though he never broke into writing for more mainstream network programming on a consistent basis, Silverman had credits on "Have Gun Will Travel," "The Farmer's Daughter," and "NYPD." According to the IMDB, he also did stints on the daytime soaps "The Secret Storm" and "Another World." During the mid-1960s, Silverman's writing partner was the blacklisted screenwriter Robert Lees ("J.E. Selby"), who was brutally murdered in his Hollywood home last year. Together they wrote for "The Green Hornet," "Flipper," "Land of the Giants," and "The Second Hundred Years." [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
