Date Posted: June 28, 2005 8:11:28 EDT ![]() John Fiedler, who voiced Piglet in the Winnie the Pooh films, has died of cancer aged 80, a day after the death of Paul Winchell, who voiced Tigger. His last outing as Piglet was in the 2005 film Pooh's Heffalump Movie. As well as being behind Piglet since 1968, Fiedler was also a veteran of stage, screen and television. He appeared in True Grit, starring John Wayne, and A Touch of Mink with Cary Grant, as well as featuring in sci-fi TV hit Star Trek. Other screen credits include playing Mr Peterson in The Bob Newhart Show and in the movie The Odd Couple and its TV spin-off. He appeared in two movie versions of A Raisin in the Sun, in 1961 alongside Sidney Poitier, and playing the same character in a 1989 TV remake. Born in Platteville in Wisconsin, Fiedler served in the Navy in the Second World War. On completing his military service he moved to New York.
