Date Posted: April 13, 2003 3:37:33 EDT Two men and a woman were found dead in a car in the mountains outside Tokyo at the weekend, in yet another suspected internet suicide pact among Japanese youths, police said yesterday. The car, filled with carbon monoxide from charcoal burnt in a portable clay stove, was discovered yesterday on a mountain road in Ichihara, 50 km south-east of Tokyo. A 26-year-old local male university student was in the driver's seat and a 33-year-old company worker from Tsu, 300 km to the west, was in the back seat with a 22-year-old female dietician from Tokyo's suburbs. "It is highly possible that these people got to know each other through a website on suicide pacts," a duty officer at the Ichihara police station said. "This one looks similar to the previous cases involving the internet." Nine other people have died in three similar incidents since February 11.
