Date Posted: November 19, 2002 8:18:57 EDT Glenn McQueen, 41, an animator who helped create such characters as Woody in "Toy Story" and Boo in "Monsters, Inc.," died of melanoma Oct. 29 in Berkeley. He was found to have the disease in December. A native of Toronto, McQueen graduated from York Mills Collegiate and went on to Sheridan College in Ontario. In 1984, he was awarded a Presidential Scholarship to work and study at the Computer Graphics Laboratory at the New York Institute of Technology. As an animator working at Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, Calif., since 1994, he helped create other well-known modern characters such as the toddler Boo. McQueen was most recently working on the feature film "Cars." Darla Anderson, the producer of "A Bug's Life" and "Monsters, Inc.," called McQueen "one of the most productive animators in the building."
