Kennelyskähän on tosin kuten ihmisten flunssakin eli siitä on lukuisia erilaisia versioita joten mitään 100 % suojaa nelosrokotekaan ei anna, mutta parantanee kuitenkin jonkin verran koiran vastuskykyä kennelyskää vastaan.
