Subject: Congrats All

I just wanted to congratulate everyone on their respective acceptances. I'm certain you will all perform briliantly at school and look forward to buying you a drink (or six) in just a few more short years. Neil: BE VERY CAREFUL with the 7-year med programs. I saw far too many friends enter college *knowing* that medicine was the only career path for them only to renounce the profession two years later. It's difficult to guess at how you might feel in a year or two, especially after exposure to other career paths. Believe it or not, I was accepted to the Brown PLME seven year program and turned it down for these very reasons... Also, regarding BU Med: I interviewed there and was sorely disappointed with the school's curriculum and facilities. If you do decide to go the BS/MD route, look closely at the med school, not just the undergraduate campus/institution. After all, you'll be spending four of the seven years there. That said, I am sure you (all of you) will be very happy at whichever school you choose to attend. I envy your future classmates and look forward to hearing of your accomplishments and/or exploits.

Best wishes.

-Aric
