He frowned a little, resting his forehead in his palm for the time she was on the phone and when he finally heard her hang up, he looked up, saw her hurting, and knew he could do nothing but go to her. That was just the way it was with him. He extricated himself from his seat and made his way over, picking her right up out of the chair and seating himself to cuddle her in his arms like a child, like he potentially could do with their child in less than nine months, if she would have it.
