可能因為我祖籍浙江的關係,我對這篇文章總有一種特別的感覺。雖然我一直沒有機會到家鄉一遊,但小時候祖父母常常會說祖家的事給我聽,印象中好像也有這種薺菜。我從沒吃過,但祖父母形容給我聽時那種興奮和那一點點懷緬之情,現在仍記憶猶新。相信周作人當時的心情和我祖父母的心情沒有兩樣吧!人在異鄉總會特別懷念故鄉的食物呢,而且總覺得同樣的食物,在異地出產的/吃到的總不及在家鄉的好。(這教我想起魯彥先生的一篇散文《故鄉的楊梅》)
不過話說回來,周作人利用野菜今昔之變來貫穿全文無疑是一種高明的手法,但就不熟悉這些野菜名稱的香港讀者而言,難免在理解上會遇到困難,因此香港讀者的感受可能沒有中國大陸讀者的感受那麼深呢!
