First: Introduction- spend the first night of training getting to know each other and having fun! With role call and everything, it is a really good way to start getting to know people. Or, do the staff activity over the summer and get to know each other through that activity.

nd: Interaction- allow a bit of social time during training, like trying to all sit together at lunch. Try to plan activities where you can spend time together. During the year, have fun team building activities/retreats.

rd: Involvement- allow your meetings to be a forum. Get ideas and input from everyone. Make everyone feel like they matter and are an important member of the team.

th: Influence- follow through with an idea from each member of the team. Not each idea every time, but if you take someone's idea seriously, you will make them feel like they have influence.

th: Investment- let the team set goals for themselves and the team, and then encourage them to follow through with those goals.

th: Identity- I like the superhero team idea because it makes for fun inside jokes and stories that no one else will understand. Things like that, maybe getting team t-shirts, etc. would be a whole lot of fun. The Holy Liberty Avengers of Japan (and the apartments) ROCK!!!!!!! :)
