Jim, just found this web-site. I was a platoon leader and XO of the 212th at Long Thanh and Long Binh, 1968-69. Gordon Currier was in our platoon, which we brought from the U.S. (Ft Carson, CO). We deployed to VN as part of the 981st, but were drawn off to be a platoon of the 212th.
After 26 years in the Army, I can proudly say that the men of the 212th were some of the finest I ever had the pleasure of serving with! Currier's loss was extra-personal to us because we all served and trained together in the U.S. prior to Viet Nam. Please let me know if you have any contact addresses of any of our people from the Long Thanh platoon/detachment (especially George Crispin and Dorsey F. Sapp). I have photos of the detachment and can still name every man! Gary Freedman, LTC USA (Ret).

One additional thing I wanted to mention. Leading

>Dog entry each year. She has provided a dog for
>veterans to march with, she has gotten up, driven many
>miles to be on TV the early morning of the parade to
>promote our entry and the parade itself. Contessa is
>special because she was born November 11, 2005.
>Veterans Day last year. Very appropriate. Bonnie is
