For a guitar player i would suggest to listen to songs from Bands like:

Tesla
Dokken
Lynch Mob

also Interresting are the albums
Dr. Feelgood
Shout at the Devil
from Mötley Crüe

for a more blues like sound you should listen to
some songs from Cinderella.

There are much more good Bands/Songs out there, so just listen to find out what you would like to play/learn,
i started with Dr. Feelgood from Mötley Crüe, and i still
like playing these songs.

greets
Dew
(Sorry for my bad english)
