Dear Amy,
Ray is my absolute favorite singer ever. His conviction and emotion he put forth with his voice was awe-inspiring and made me feel the songs. In my opinion, he had the epitome of a hard rock voice and image. I was fortunate to see Badlands in about 1989(?) at was then The Lone Star in Kansas City, MO (I still have the ticket stub). What a show! I collect as much material as I can with Ray singing,including the Eternal Idol demos with Black Sabbath and about four songs he did with Akira Takasaki(?). He was incredible on everything I've heard but I really like the bluesy rock of the Badlands material and the incredible vocal range he demonstrated on the Black Sabbath stuff.
Anyway, I appreciate the opportunity to express my feelings about Ray and my sympathy to you and your family.
Ray is still missed.
