melody and dierna.... the empress found out about them about an hour ago. they had to leave the forest and return to some temple. i am the only decent person left in this dump of a forest.

if it is to destroy the empress, consider me your friend. oh, now would be a good time to mention that i have a spell on the orb, ne? oh, yes.... let me introduce myself.
~+~*her staff shrunk down to the size of a talisman. it was the same type of rod that psyke had, but not made by the faeries.*~+~
i am Avalon, a summoner from the 5th ancient world. my gryphon is Ardana, the first gryphon to become a companion to a living being. so, now we know each other.
~+~*she taped the talisman on the barrier and it vanished.*~+~
the orb is not far, and going to melody and dierna would have taken longer anyways.
~+~*she turns to the south, and starts walking. naturally, you follow her. about 10 minuates later, you came to a small pillar of light. there was an orb floating in the center. avalon glances back at you.*~+~
please step back, i have a summon guarding this sphere. i need to release its spell before we can take the orb.
~+~*you do as she says, and her talisman snaps back to the length of the rod. a hollow sphere forms at the top, and she holds it out to the light. the sphere fills with white light, and she starts twirling the rod. the light around the orb slowly becomes solid, then forms a massive serpent. it dives at you, but avalon jerks the rod back, causing the sphere at the top to point the other direction. obediently, the serpent goes the other direction. she continues to twirl the rod, and the serpent gradually got closer and closer. it eventually vanished into the sphere at the top of the rod. she grabs the floating orb, then colapses.*~+~
oh my..... i had forgotten how much harder it was to lift spells rather than cast them.........
~+~*she was on the brink of passing out by this point. she tucked the sphere into her pocket.*~+~
ardana is my only friend, i keep this sphere.
