The Jedi Order
The Jedi Order is a noble order of protectors unified by their belief and observance of the Force. Now, let's get this straight, by using the term "force" we do not mean excessive powers, etc. The Jedi are in no way even close to being "immortal" and one caught "power-playing" is quickly chastised. Someone being able to use the "force" just simply means that particular individual has an inate ability to sense and perform things incapable of other individuals. So when somebody screams "may the force be with you" you know what the heck they're ranting about. Anybody can come here and ask the Jedi for help, etc.

To become a Jedi requires the deepest commitment and most serious mind. It is not a venture to be undertaken lightly. As such, Jedi instruction is rigidly structured and codified to enforce discipline and hinder transgression.

The Jedi are in charge of protecting the general public and investigating the offenders.

Obviously, I have to lay down some ground rules. The Jedi here that pertain to Cascade Mountains do not ride around in "star ships" or other fantasy vehicles, though they do carry one sole "fantasy", if you want to say, weapon: the lightsaber. To those who are not familiar to the lightsaber, it is a sword type thing but, instead, its blade is a beam of light which can cut through basically anything. Once again, the Jedi's responsibility is to protect much like the police but is a little more dignified ranking.
