Subject: Rigoletto

i enjoyed Rigoletto. It was different from the typical love story (like La Traviata was). It had a different kind of storyline. I'm not sure if it was just me, but it wasn't entirely predictable. At times it was disturbing, with how the Duke treated women, but on the other hand it was pretty amusing to see how stupid Gilda acted. I felt bad for Rigoletto at times. Even though he was meanspirited, I don't think it was his fault. He didn't have any real friends, which probably didn't make him feel very good about himself; in turn, making him meanspirited.
I also liked seeing Luciano Pavoratti in his role. I had always heard of him, and heard some of his music, but I never really experienced his talent or even saw him to that extent before.
