After seeing three totally different operas, I have to say that La Traviata has been my absolute favorite. I have to admit that I can not remember the music. I think that it is my favorite because we saw it live.
Carmen was not that bad. The music was awsome! It was good to see a female character play tricks on the men. I have to say though that Micaela was a more stronger character than Carmen. She still wanted to be with Don Jose. I learned someting from her. You have to forgive and forget.
Carmen also teaches us women that when there is danger we should run and seek help, we can not be too nice, be street smart and we should give ourselves some value. Only because we're women it does not mean that we should let men walk all over us. But it also does not mean that we should be overly feminists.
