I think I can help with the motor noise off of stoplights. When the trucks reach about 210 degrees, the fan seems to kick in high gear. Mine makes some god awful fan noise when it reaches the half way mark on the temp guage(I think about 210). It looks like just a way for the truck to cure the high temps. From other people's experiences, it sounds like electric fans haven't been the cure. Most that have tried it have said nothing good about them. Might just have to live with it. They're just loud. I drowned mine out with a Flowmaster.
