I'm not going to be of much help on the mileage debate , yet. I only have about 2k on mine so far.
I had the same concern (lots of highway miles), but now , so far, I am very pleased with them.
Clearances are good, for what little room we have. I have had no rubbing issues. I think this is due to the side lug design (kinda like the opposite design of the TSL Swampers), overall diameter is smaller than most at 30.6" and I stayed with the stock rims.
Road noise is just the way I like it. They are not as loud as my exhaust (modified) and don't drown out the interior at highway speeds, however, with the windows down there is a nice low toned hum :)
And a "biggie", for me, they don't pick up the gravel much at all. I drive on a couple gravel roads every day, they are short, but the AT tires were throwing rocks and dinging the heck out of my paint.
I have yet to try them in the snow , but all other terrain and conditions have been super.
They appear "aggressive" , but side by side with a Wild Country MT, there is less spacing between lugs (more rubber on the road) this combined with the deeper tread depth may mean that they would be comparable for lifespan. However I have heard that they may have a softer compound, of that I am unsure.
I ran a set of the Wild Countrys few years back and liked the performance (though they did wear pretty quick) but hated the noise, the Geolandars are MUCH better so far!
