Subject: One last word.

Salvador-BA, Brazil, 09/30/2003.

I'm just lying in my room watching you play at Sneaky Pete's one more time. And AGAIN I cant' believe what I see. Then there's this "madness" at where I suppose is you own room and you blow my mind even more w/ that creamy strat w/ no "super gear" backing ya. The guy shooting the video says "it sounds like it looks", oh boy is him right! Now I put you playing at Murphy's and watch the people pass by, play snooker and you play just the most beautiful notes, how blessed those guys in Memphis are!!! You look like you are in some kind of trance or whatever and when you make that funny face and point the guitar skywards, hmmm I think we're gonna have "trouble" around. What about that NAMM '93 gig with all the "greats" in awe as you played that solo in "I'm going Down"? Geez, you are great! Everyone kinda fades out when you're in the spotlight (not that the boys are "untalented" just that you're so...). I wonder how would it be if you played on that G3 tour. Also, I think you're a shy buddy 'cause everyone is screaming when you play and you give us that ackward grin like you can't handle the ovation. Strange how things turn... Now I'm thinking about our friends at the old email forum (Mick, Ed, Splash, Pernath, Skydog...) (miss you buddies!) and how we discuss your music so dearly (Ed, you still owe us that "Memphis Diary" pt. 2 and 3 and on...) we use to call you "the big fella" down there. I remember how I was struck for the 1st time by your music and it was so intense that I felt like hearing the voice of God somehow. You're a special one man. The music you make is a huge part of the soundtrack of my life and many more people. How good it is being aware of this awesome music. How lucky we all are.
Now, let me get back to this ugly morming 'cause yesterday I was told you're not w/ us anymore. I'm TIRED for not sleeping watching you play in all those videos. I'm PISSED 'cause it's too early in the morning of our lives and you're damn gone having SO MUCH to share w/ us. I'm DEVASTATED by this unbelievable news and now I can't meet you in person and chat about TRUE ART that's so precious for all of us. But I'm also HONOURED for getting to know such decent people over the world all touched by your music.
Of course my deepest feelings go to your family (Mitsy, Ashley), friends and close ones. One guy I can't forget to send my sorrow is Mick, who so devotedly put this site on and gave a lot of love in spreading your music, you're the man "Captain". I can't say "thank you" enough. And to you buddy Shawn , our dear "big fella", all I can say now is have a smooth ride, thank you for putting so much beauty in our lives, you've done a lot! And if you have the chance, send some inspiration in our humble world. May your music live forever. Rest in peace man, we love ya!
