hi jason!

i would say he wasnīt that much a fan from hendrix, but he was in general a fan of music, iīm pretty sure that he had all lpīs from hendrix in his home... he was more classical influenced, if you ment his playing style? if you ment this then it was more the classic stuff, like violin players, flute players, all the stuff, you can hear that pretty much in his playing like he used to play legato stuff, or how he played scales, his choice of notes... oh, and i think he covered almost every hendrix song with the willys, it was a coverband! and yeah, the all along the watchtower version is fucking awesome, he played it note for note the same, but you could hear that it was lane playing, you still could figure that it was his style...

i never heard him playing with a slide, but fingerpicking is natural in his style, for example if he did this string-skipping stuff he used to use the pick and one or two fingers at the same time...

"Also, Shawn was an amazing guitar player"

i have to kinda disagree ;-) ... he was the fucking best, genius, awesome guitar player- musician in general ever alive, i do think that no one will reach his technical level EVER... and he was the coolest person you could ever met...
