"I really don't know... it's getting pretty bad out there. Bo doen't mind rain, but I know how much she hates lightning. The thunder doesn't even bother her, just those powerful flashes of light." Josie shrugged and looked around briefly.
"Ok I'm gonna go get her into a stable where she can keep dry and I'll close her in completely so the lightning flashed won't scare her. And as for Dreamer.. I don't know what I can do. She's scared of everything so far, I couldn't comfort her if my life depended on it." She sighed and headed down the hall.
"If I'm not back within 20 minutes, something's wrong."
Just as she reached the elevator the lights went out causing complete darkness throughout the apartment.
"Woa... problem. Looks like I'm going to have to use the stairs." She held her hands onto the wal while guiding herself down the stairs then reached the bottom and opened the door to go outside. The wind immediatley blew the door shut again. Josie glared and pushed the door open with all her might and got out. She let the door go and it slammed shut.
The trees tilted over while the wind tossed them violently from side to side. Pieced of stray wood and garbage tumbled around the ground causing hazards to anyone nearby. Shrill horse cries were dorwned out by the loud crashes of thunder and sharp swooshing of the wind.
Josie held her jacket closed tight and scrinched up a little keeping her eyes squinted. "Oh my god..."
The rain fell forcefully from the sky, ramming into the ground causing little holes to form in the dirt, distracting sounds like flapping window shutters made it frustrating trying to listen for her horse. It was difficult to tell wether or not she had reached the barn until the sounds of the horses became louder.
"Looks like I'm not the only one who left their horse outside..." Bo's head spun in Josie's direction, her ears pointed straight and her neck stiff. She had no idea it was Josie until she called out her name.
"Bo baby! It's me!" Her voice was muffled from the wind, but Bo heard her clearly. Bo let out a sharp neigh, dropping her red horse ball toy out of her mouth.
"Come here we gotta go inside!" Bo grabbed her horse ball and walked up to Josie who then clipped a lead onto Bo's halter and led her to the indoor barn. Horses inside were kicking at their doors and moving around reclessly. Josie shrugged and led Bo to a stall next to where Dreamer was. "I'm glad you're ok.. uh you brought your horse ball in with you? Ooookay." She closed Bo in the stall and moved to Dreamer's. She peaked inside the dark stall looking in all the corners for her filly, who was oddly enough standing in the middle out in the open. Josie raised and eyebrow. Dreamer seemed to be at complete ease with all this commotion.
Josie shrugged again and turned to look at all the worried horses. She didn't know what she could do about them so she just spent brief moments talking to each of them in attempt to make them feel better forgetting that she'd been there for about 40 minutes already.
