Subject: Serpents Awakening

Surely the good weather is upon us. Last week while afield we came upon numerous serpents of the most venomous nature.
The Northern pacific rattlesnake and the smaller Diamondback variety seemed to be the most dominant.

I am fairly confident in snake country. Yet, danger is always near. So, as part of our regular self defense ongoing education I thought it might be timely to mention some of this. Bring up the attention levels and perhaps help someone avoid problems. I intend to add some thoughts on this to the main page.

The TICK problem can be severe as well. They too need to be learned about. Knowledge gained then should be shared w/ kids and friends. Keep your pets clean too. They can give ticks to you. Keep rodent populations under control. They are bad news on many levels.

Some of this is that global warming effect in action.
Easy winters breed heavy populations of bugs, snakes and such. Global warming is happening, combined with a few naturally occuring, cyclic circumstances and BOOM... big changes seen and felt.

I love to see the adaptation occur as the seasons change.
The clothing alters, attitudes change, activities buzz, machines are exchanged for other machines, we go from trying not to slip on an icy walkway to trying not to step on a rattler in our backyard. The true and never stationary "world flow" .. a living canvas painted anew every day.
