Subject: F150 heads?

My F150 would not start the other day. There was no indication that anything was wrong before this. After checking battery, starter, starter relay, etc...pulled plugs and found water on them. There is no water in the oil.....there also was no water in radiator or resevoir (the temp gauge didn't show hot while it was running). With the plugs out, blew out water, replaced plugs and engine will start now.
I'm leaning toward a problem w/the heads, as I feel if it was the front cover, there should be water in the oil.
Any ideas/suggestions before I start taking apart engine?
It's a 97 4.2 v6 with only 76000 mi on it.
Thank you!
