Subject: Calling all boardies who live in Iowa

Look, look! Scott's show got a writeup in the Des Moines weekly paper! I'm so annoyed that Seril and Churchy are not around because I wanted to tell them he was playing in a town near them. Anyway, here's what the Des Moines paper had to say:

Voodoo Organist
Oct. 19, 10 p.m.
Hairy Mary's
$5

Organist casts his spell

Hairy Mary's has a knack for bringing unusual acts to Des Moines, and this weekend it keeps the streak alive. The Voodoo Organist creates an exotic, spacey sound. With an organ, synthesizers, computer, steel drums and an assortment of other percussion instruments. The Voodoo Organist, a/k/a Scott Aaron Wexton, had played in several jazz, alternative, industrial and goth bands. All those influences come out in his current music.

Wexton's organ changes fluidly from a spooky groan to a dramatic shriek and is punctuated by the electronic blips and pulses of the synthesizer. Song styles range from "Twilight Zone"-lounge sound to gothic waltzes and some old-fashioned 'Nawlin's style voodoo blues.

Tinged with humor and possessing a charismatic stage presence, Wexton should keep usually rambunctious Hairy Mary's crowd spellbound for much of the night. The Voodoo Organist will lay down a odd, but not unpleasant, set of compelling music that takes audiences soaring to the heavens then crashes them down in the depths of hell.

And, just so I can't be accused of making this up, just follow the link below. :)
