Subject: K back with the questions
Something somewhat non Xander related.
Does Anya have a soul?
Did she have one when she was the original Anya pre Wish.
Did she have one between Season 3 and Hells Bells?(remember to think of Doppelgangland. and her lack of any remorse during her first stint as Human.)
Did she have one when she returned as Anyanka?
And then does she have one now?

I am one of those people that thought Aud/Anyanka/Anya had a soul the entire time.
I don't think about her character much.

I think she had a soul the whole time. Sometimes it just doesnt seem like it because she doesnt know how to act. For example: 'The Body'

I'm not solid one way or another because a soul when it comes to different people means different things. With Angel it meant over remorseful and super sulky. With Spike you get Crazy. With Warren, he may as well not have a soul. With Anya. Well they showed her as being unable to cope with human reaction and normal interraction before she was ever a demon. But rather just who she was.
I actually don't think Joss for sure knows if Anya has a soul. Or if she does when she has had it and when she hasn't.

Dave Fury said that he did not think Anya had a Soul, but I think that Espenson and Wazzername, the witch, both thought that Anya had a Soul. Espenson said it was a source of discussion in ME.
Makes sense that she always had it. Vengence is born out of human scorn. That a Souled Human would go along with such behaviour makes the acts that Anya commited all the more ...... here's where I come up with brain lock....

Well, I think she's had it all along. Which makes me wonder if ALL demons have souls. Only vampires (because the human must die to become a vampire) lose their souls. So, what is a vampire with a soul? Simply that, or more ... demon or human. They are an aberration.

........with the Demon Soul thingy.... Cause it would seem the Hell Gods (the two that survived Glory and are now in Fray) are in cahoots with Demons somehow against the Vampires. It's all part of Joss' master plan about the Buffyverse....

Because for a vampire on BtVS, Soul having is like "Get out of Jail Free" card having. And that just gets confusing. Buffy kills demons only IF they are dangerous. Alright. And she doesn't do it to punish them but simply to protect the innocent? But if thats a the case. What about the demons that have the capability to kill but don't use it. And what about the Vampires at the Riley's Whore House. They weren't killing any one. But it was competely fine to kill them.
Its just that the way I'm interpretting this, and I do realize I'm getting off my original topic a bit, is that Buffy kills those demons/vamps that are a threat.
Well then my question becomes what about those who are a potential threat? With Spike, though he physically couldn't hurt anyone, he was capable of betraying the scoobs just as he did in season 4, he also could take command of a band of demons. Though apparently he didn't think this far ahead. He could kick their asses and so thusly they could kick ass for him. But he was still potentially an evil being. And even up to AYW, even though alot of people hate that ep. He was involved in evil undertakings. that while they didn't actually get anyone killed they were intendant on killing alot of people. So he has definitely presented himself as a malicious threat since the time he could easily been staked. Its not like the opportunity wasn't there. And I"m not even talking about the stuff he has done this year.
But I just have major issued with who Buffy kills and why. Certain situations are obvious. the vamp sucking on the little old lady on the corner, no question. But when it comes to demons with souls and Vampires with chips, its all a little fuzzy and I feel buffy has made some uneven choices.

I don't know about demons having souls. The general implication in folklore is that they don't, and I don't think ME has ever addressed it specifically.
Since there was no mention of Aud's soul being taken, I'm gonna say that when she became Anyanka the vengeance demon she still had it.
About the issue over what that means if she had a soul while she was doing all the horrible things she did as a vengeance demon, I don't really have anything to say. Because I don't think having a soul necessarily makes someone good. And NOT having a soul doesn't make someone evil, IMO.

Well, I'm not sure about that question. I'm not fully sure how souls all work. I used to have a soul, but I traded it for a racecar. I know you can trade souls for things, so maybe Anya did that. She could have gotten a racecar too, but she just might not use it since she can't afford gas. Plus, the car might not be street legal. Mine isn't. I guess the devil screwed me on that deal. Oh well, a week or so after that, I found a lot of 3 souls on eBay that I got for $15.46 + 3.50 priority mail shipping. Not a bad deal. One was a little damaged though, but they were used and for a good price. I don't think I got anyone by the name of Anya's soul in my lot, but I didn't check to thoroughly. I did trade one of the souls for a teleporter though. Thing is, it runs on a crystal that doesn't exist. Screwed again. So I decided to get back at the devil and traded my soul to have my soul get into heaven when I die. Now this is some sort of loophole in the religion system as God told me that I couldn’t do that even though I did. He seemed a little confused and decided to let it slide, and he even gave me that plant back he killed of mine and that $5 he owed me from that flood a long time back as long as I didn’t do it again. I also managed to get him to let me have a giant robot that can cloak itself. But when I got it home, I noticed the batteries were dead, so now I have to plug it into the wall when I want to wreak havoc all over town. And, while I was stomping all over town while cloaked, someone kindly let me know that they could still see me sitting inside the robot, because the robot was cloaked and invisible but I was not. So, that was the third time I got screwed on soul trading. Just a warning to all of you thinking about trading your souls in for neat stuff.

Oh yeah, and BTW, Doppelgangland's capital city is named Doppelpopulus. It's a nice place, but everyone looks the same. That's a story for another time.
