Pekingese will overheat practically anywhere. They have a very short nose and a tiny mouth, so they can't cool themselves. Plus, they have tons of hair. I've heard a vet say before that its not that great to shave them completly b/c their undercoat can actually prevent them from overheating. Don't quote me on that, but I have heard that.
