Why not indeed!
This is the same question many in the anti war community have been asking...and the answer is may Bush didnt really want to "get him".

I gave my opinion of why.
Osama's family are great friends of the Bush family.
The Saudis have extreamly close ties with the US mostly because of the great friendship with the Bushs.

BTW I dont have a problem with protecting inocent Saudi citizens and making sure they are not the vitims of post 9-11 crazies however in light of the highjacking of 4 US planes and the crashing of those four killing thousands of US citizens and dozens or more of other citizens of other nations it seems to me if nothing else really really strange that these saudi citizens got to flee the US that quickly without investigation into any knowledge they may have had.....since many of them were in some way realated to Osama.
I beleave it was Bush and company that said it was Osama that was a really really bad dude and into the business of terror.
SO.......I didnt ever really care about the other dude you are talking about in your article...I was answering your question....Why cant we get Osama?

We went into war with Afghanistan because Bush said that Osama was really a bad terror dude...but know he says he's not worried about him.

I hope I am wrong and that Bush and company are right....other wise over 1600 American Service people(not counting the other soldiers from other nations and countless Iraqi citizens) have lost their lives for the vanity of one man.
That is a horrid thought!
But you know what they say about absolute power and what it can do to ones soul.
