A Wrinkle in Time? or the books that came after them?
They are great! (A Wind in the Door,A Swiftly Tilting Planet and Many Waters).....all by MADELEINE L'ENGLE.
She also wrote A Ring of Endless Light I havent had the chance to read that one yet....but there is a movie out based on it. It was a cute movie.

Also IF you get a chance read all seven of the Chronicles of Narnia...it would be worth the time and the reading level isnt really all that advanced.

I read The First Book in the Young Wizards Series:
So You Want to Be a Wizard, about 3 yrs ago and really loved it..havent found the time to read any more of them.
I found the first one a bit darker then Harry Potter so really sensitive souls more then likely shouldnt read it.
It was written by Diane Duane.
I think there is at least 7 in the series with another one due out anytime now.

I'm reading books by Mercedes Lackey now and I really like her but she is NOT a childrens author.
Her books are fantasy(several epics and series).

gotta go and get some rest.
didnt get much sleep. My darling daughter and her twin bother were over an hr over due last night and it scared me to death. It was the first time I let her friend drive her around at night. They went over to pick up my dd twin bother and her friends bother at 1130 pm up at the high school from a field trip their humanities class went on (opera house) to Louisville. Well the bus was over due and they had no way of reaching me(they didnt have the cell with them and there were no pay phones available and the school was not unlocked and they didnt think to ask if one of the other parents had a cell they could use!...plus the school is in an isolated location up top of a very big hill..anyway) I couldnt go to sleep and was really really getting frantic when they walked in the door...safe and sound!
And I wonder why I have been getting more white hairs lately!!!
