Your answer and Jay's agree. What I wanted was some insights on how parents set an example in teaching children about charity and the pure love of Christ.
Seeing a moment and acting on it can be all right, but
there also has to be some thought in the consequences too.

We have been teaching them to pray for others (very basic) and to 'visit' those in prison via letters (through a chaplain) and there are some friends of ours who are going through a very rough time right now because of CPS in New York state.

We have taught them to not judge but to render assistance in a thoughtful manner that seeks to bless lives.

Both your answers have given me much food for thought.
