Subject: It's interesting to note

that Communist countries, in order to control citizens' actions and attitudes, began assembling files on their citizens, using the data to coerce or condemn. Now our gov is compiling the largest database ever on American citizens and few people even know about it.

The Dept of Defense has recently admitted to having started a database known as JAMRS (Joint Advertising, Market Research and Studies). They've contracted with a private marketing firm to assemble all sorts of information on youth as young as 16yo. The data comes from a variety of sources, including private data-mining firms, public records, Selective Service registration, school records, medical records, etc etc. They are even tracking mother's attitudes with regards to the draft!

You cannot even opt out of having your information given to this database! And DoD can share this information with a variety of agencies without your knowledge or consent, including:

*Law enforcement.

*other agencies when DOD requesting information in order to engage in hiring and firing decisions.

*other agencies when requested for a variety of government decision making.

*Congress in response to Member inquiries.

*foreign law enforcement.

*state and local taxing authorities.

*the Office of Personnel Management for pay, leave, and benefits administration.

*the Department of Justice for litigation.

*military banking facilities.

*the General Services Administration for records management inspections.

*the National Archives and Records Administration.

*the Merit Systems Protection Board.

*almost any entity for national security purposes.
