the whole socialism thing because it sounds kindof like the United Order...but its less painful because they dont have to think about it,...the goverment does it for them. They then can feel they have done their part in helping the fatherless, the poor and the widow without any real effort on thier part.

I know what you mean though. Try and tell them(not just Utah Mormons) that being a Republican is no longer the only political way to be right in Gods eyes and they get that eyes glazed over look...or look at you like you have lost your mind!....or your temple worthiness at the least! OH MY GOSH...let them know you have voted third party or democrate(is there really any difference between the repubs and the dems anymore?) and you would think you are now numbered amoung the sons of perdition!
I know why our Leaders in Salt Lake usually dont tell anyone how they vote!.....or even what color they paint their bathrooms! could you imagine what would happen if one of them said something like.....(fiction)"I think blue is the best color for a bathroom" I bet you almost my last dollar that a zillion bathrooms would become blue!.
Im not saying we shouldnt follow the prophet...but I hope you get my drift!
