There is a reason: The powers that be want more hate, less love. They want people to fear each other. If we fear each other, we will not get together and get rid of unrighteous leaders, you see. So there must be less looking after the weak, in society. More "each take care of himself" (the "American way"), more "it's your own fault if you don't make it" crap. Less social security. In one investigated local TV station in L.A. during about one year 51% of the time and 25% of the news was spent on violent crime. Much of the rest was probably not real news but sport, commercials, etc.

Mad things have started to happen in Sweden also. In almost every case the perpetrator had first tried to get help for psychiatric problems but been turned down. Society here have hardened, even if we have far to go before it gets as bad as in the US.

It used to be that people trusted society to be on their side. This have changed. Society is not on their side anymore, and people know it. This cause anger, frustration and, in combination with psychiatric problems, explosions of meaningless violence. People get killed for no reason at all.

This have always happened though it's increasing. But what is even worse is that media reports it more gruesome today, which makes people more scared than they really need to be. The most dangerous place by very, very, very far is still your own home and violence from a family member -- and this regardless of if you are LDS or not.

The way to keep power is to make those who might threaten your power fear each other. We the people -- united, not divided -- do threaten the power of lying, deceiving scoundrels. Therefore lying, deceiving scoundrels want us to fear, murder, hate eachother. This is the reason ``Our whole culture is going NUTS!'' as Jean so truthfully wrote. And it's spreading to the rest of the world also, it's no longer confined in the US.
