much faster than I do. I noticed your first post just as I started reading Leif's "Global Religion" thread. But then saw that I was about 20 min behind you--did I REALLY take that long to read and write????

I can't post on LDFR and Daniel hasn't gotten back to me to tell me why. It won't let me logon. Grrrr....

Yes, I'm taking an online computer whiz class (I think it's called PC Troubleshooting, something like that). Anyway, I've already put in a new modem. Next on my list is more memory, and cleaning the insides. I'm actually learning what all these cryptic error messages mean and boy am I SMART!! hahahaha (Although not nearly as smart as our board's resident computer genious. Right, Leif?) I just wish I'd taken this class 4 yrs ago--before our computer got really screwed up.

I've been doing lots of gardening. The weather is finally (A)above freezing and (B) not raining, although it was sprinkling the other day as I was finishing my rototilling. I am still sore from rototilling. That machine shakes the insides out of you! I also pruned the roses, cotoneaster, raspberries and flowering almond and now my arms really ache. We had a late freeze, after many plants had started budding/flowering, and we lost a lot of our flowering almond and new rosebush growth. Our lilacs also made a poor showing this year.

Yesterday was WINDY!! 25-35 mph sustained winds. I hung out the clothes, but even so it was so cloudy and humid they needed about 5 min in the dryer. Today's still windy and I have one more flower bed to get weeded. I just don't know if I want to be out in that wind all day.

**Anyone know how to get rid of Creeping Charlie??? That stuff has taken over all our garden beds now as well as about half the lawn. It seems the more I weed the more there is! This stuff is so aggressive, it covers about twice the area it did just 2 yrs ago.**

Last week we fed and watered our neighbor's sheep for him while he was gone. Do you know how STUPID sheep are?!?! One of them broke through the fence (I'm afraid our neighbor--a typical Norwegian farmer/bachelor--is pretty lax about his fencing) and it took us almost 45 min to get that STUPID sheep back into the fence. I took a couple falls, twisted my ankle (which is prone to injury since breaking my leg a few years ago), cut my hand on the barbed wire and came home generally battered, bruised and aching. (Once again, our bachelor neighbor is pretty relaxed about what he leaves lying around in the barn and fields--there was lots to trip on.) It's a good thing we love our neighbor because right now I'm not feeling too kindly towards his sheep. Great entertainment value for the boys, though. LOL I shouldn't complain--he always gives us good lamb chops and roasts every fall. Thinking about that almost cures my injured ankle and pride. :D

And I did get several nice bouquets of lilacs off of his bushes. Since they face east and have a tree shelter on the west, they were not as affected by the frost. Our house was filled with the delightful aroma for several days. There, I guess we did come out ahead in the deal after all. :D
