The church still leaves the choice up to the member as to what is medically necessary. However, many years ago chemotherapy was so toxic that people were dying from the cure instead of the disease. It is now more biologically selective between cancer cells and embryonic/fetal cells, in which case the babies can be saved, but there was a time in the early stages of pregnancy that an embryo would die due to the similarities between cancerous trophoblast cells and embryonic cells.
It is more selective now, but since we use alternative remedies the issue is still debated.
Abortion as a means of birth control is morally wrong.
And doctors who are refusing to get the training are sending a message to those who engage in immoral practices.
And who are these people to insist that they have a right to this procedure if there is no exceptional need such as rape or incest?
