My letter to the District Attorney and The Department of Labor was apparently enough to get the attention of the top ten union officers in our local. In my opinion, they do not see themselves in a position to win back those positions of leadership in the next election. Many of them are apparently preparing to abandon ship. Many times, most especially during times of war the crew of a badly damaged ship would scuttle the vessel so that the secrets on the ship would go down with her. We must do everything possible to make certain that our ship stays afloat as the captain and the crew prepares to abandon her. The union is our ship, it is our lifeline. I do not mind when I see the rats leaving the ship, but I will fight like holy hell if they try to sink her. To those leaders who are about to leave us, I say do it quickly and quietly. Try to destroy this union before you go, and I for one, and the many others who are disgusted with your performance, will do everything we possibly can to destroy you before we let you do it to us again. To those of you who are thinking about utilizing the garbage that we in local 100 are now in the process of getting red of, in the mistaken assumption that they will do better for you than they did for us, MAY GOD HELP YOU.
