{Vacations are EEEEVIL! I missed so much... I’m catching up, though, or trying to. For whatever reason, the name "Elpis" reminds me of "Elvis", and I keep thinking of the character as sorta Elvis-ish... I’ll try not to, but it’s sorta fixated in my head, ya know? And sure, no more giant fonts, lol. It wasn’t THAT big, though... (Yes, I do know/remember what you are talking about, El.) Tell me when you’re done with the chapter, and I’ll hop on over an’ read it! And this is almost ALL talking… scary!}

Rhowe’non smiled cautiously, glad that Elpis had accepted her offer. "No problem. Follow me – we’re sitting over there, near the door." So saying, she led him over to their rapidly growing gathering, glancing once over her shoulder to make sure that he was following.

^:Future Rian my foot. Since when have we become so well mannered? Last time I spoke with you, you were tumbling over your own two feet and calling everyone by nicknames, Chwar.:^ Ari’s tone was a bit smug, with the slightest hint of a sting to it. She then sighted Shak walking towards them and rumbled slightly in welcome.

Rhowen regained her seat, but not before pulling out the unoccupied seat beside her and motioning for Elpis to sit. She smiled at Chwar, then barely refrained from laughing at Shak’s opening comment as he joined the group. "Social butterfly, hmm? It’s probably good for you. With that dark cloak, and your shifty, twisted personality" – she grinned teasingly – "if you don’t get to know some people better, they might think you’re up to something. Then again, you probably are, knowing you."

^:Flirt.:^
.:I hope you eat molasses and your babbling maw gets stuck shut.:.
^:Wouldn’t do any good, you know. I just use mind speech.:^
.:Be quiet. And I am NOT, by the way. You, on the other hand...:.
^:You’re trying to change the subject.:^
.:Your point being what?:.
^:Never mind.:^
.:Ha!:.

"Thank you for your complements, Shak and Davni, although I doubt that I fully deserve them. To answer your questions, I learned to play when I was fairly young, maybe seven winters or so. I was born in a performance troupe, and one of the nobles whom we performed for was a musician. He gave it to me – for what reason, I think I’ll never know. I’d go off into the woods at night and experiment with it, and when we passed through towns, I’d often seek out minstrels and coax out a lesson or two, paying them with my meals. Then, after the troupe… drove me away… I played often while wandering around in the forest. The birds didn’t mind – to them, I was just some foreign bird migrating through, with a very high-pitched, and often shrieking, song. They lost their curiosity after the first week or so, however. And yes, the notes are rather painful to the ears when played incorrectly. When first starting off, I’d occasionally stuff my ears with scraps of cloth or leaves to muffle the sound." She stifled a chuckle at Shak’s declaration. "One broke glass? My… If the musician was female, it might have been my mother. She always proclaimed to be skilled in the area of music, yet I do not know anyone who would agree with her. I was… not very fond of her." With good reason, she thought silently. If anything, she was glad the troupe had driven her away, else she might never have found her way here… And she certainty wouldn’t be Bonded to Ari.

Ariannaid turned an amused gazed towards the other Wytti. ^:Or perhaps caring for Neira for so long drove him to the point where he either had to modify his manners or lose his sanity. He couldn’t exactly be well mannered in that situation, could he, or because of the fact that she is a princess, he’d have to have done whatever she said. Which would not have been a good thing.:^

Rhowen too had been curious as to the reason for another litter so soon, and listened intently for Davni’s response. She barely refrained from laughing at that point. "I suppose that makes sense…" was as far as she got, before having to cut off her words in order to remain polite.
